There were many conversations about ways to eliminate these from the garden, from toxic to all pesticides to one of my favorites: molasses in water (1 - 10 ratio) in large shallow pans. These guys are suckers for sweet, leap in, eat, swim for a while and then drown. Not necessarily the most humane, but it does take some of them out of the garden.
